NPC Annual Meeting Number 2: Even Better Than Last Year

Last weekend, WebGreek had the enormous pleasure of attending our second National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) annual meeting in Grapevine, Texas, a small community just outside of Dallas. For those of you who don’t know about NPC, they are the leadership council for 26 of women’s fraternities in North America. They represent more than 4 million members at 655 college campuses and contribute over 500,00 hours of service to their communities. Needless to say, they are an extremely important force in the Greek community, and you can visit their website or follow @NPCwomen to learn more about this great organization.

This was WebGreek’s second time attending the event, and we could not be happier with our experience. The food was plentiful (especially the fudge cake), the company was friendly and welcoming, and the accommodations were worthy of their 4-diamond award. But when WebGreek was not stuffing our faces, or enjoying Texas’s clinch win over the Yankees down at the hotel bar, we were busy making friends and unveiling our brand new technology platform for Greek organizations.

We arrived at the hotel late Thursday evening, the first thing I noticed was how organized and friendly the staff were as we registered for the event. Due to our tardy arrival, we had very little time to set up our booth before attending the dinner and dessert reception. Fortunately, the staff was incredibly helpful and we finished our setup in the knick of time. Our booth was quite impressive (we went all out), sporting a 12-foot movie screen, two laptops, a 20” iMac, and a stack of our popular WebGreek tote bags.

During the reception I was glad to see all the familiar faces of the friends we had made the year before. Everyone was buzzed on the excitement and anticipation of the weekend, and Patrick and I enjoyed many great conversations as we caught up with the many Greek leaders attending the event. The year before, we were newcomers; young, bootstrapped, and we knew just about no one. This year, we were welcomed as family, and everyone we spoke to made us feel at home. The NPC community is filled with some of the nicest people WebGreek has ever met.

The tradeshow itself took place all day Friday, and was broken up into segments with the Executive Directors coming in first, followed by Presidents, and then Delegation members. As we did our presentations, answered questions, and passed out swag, I was extremely impressed with the interest and forward-thinking exhibited by the NPC leaders. Our platform was a hit, and we ignited the beginnings of many business deals that will ultimately revolutionize the way these Greek organizations function. We can’t wait to start working with all of them!

All in all, the trip was extremely successful and our team had a great time. We returned home eager to strengthen the relationships we made at the event, and ecstatic to find that the San Francisco Giants had clinched a trip to the World Series. We cannot wait until next year, and we hope to see everyone again at the Association of Fraternity Advisor’s (AFA) conference in December. Thanks NPC!
